Creating a sense of Community
On Commonwealth Day 2026, the Board Members of the Royal Commonwealth Society of Edmonton were honoured to be introduced in the Legislative Assembly of Alberta by The Honourable Speaker of the House, Ric McIver. The occasion marked a meaningful moment of recognition for the Society and reflected the enduring relevance of Commonwealth values in public life, civic service, and community leadership in Alberta.
Following this special introduction, Board Members were pleased to attend an afternoon tea hosted by Her Honour, the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta. The gathering offered a gracious opportunity for conversation and reflection, while underscoring the importance of friendship, service, and mutual respect that continue to define the Commonwealth and inspire the work of the Society in Edmonton.
